Coffee All day
House espresso blend, plus a rotating single origin on filter.
Basalt Grove is a neighbourhood cafe for unhurried mornings: small-batch espresso, loaves still warm from the oven, and a short lunch that changes with the season.
We roast in small batches, bake before sunrise and keep the menu short — so everything on it is worth ordering twice.
Basalt Grove began with two things we wanted nearby: coffee that tastes like where it came from, and bread with a proper crust. Everything else on the menu grew out of those two habits.
Walk in any time we are open. The bakery shelf is fullest before ten.
Birthday breakfasts, small team mornings, a quiet farewell. Tell us the date and group size and we will come back with what is possible, plus pastry trays to take away.
Yes. Oat milk is always free, and each day's board marks plant-based bakes and lunch dishes. We bake with flour on site, so we describe items as gluten-aware rather than gluten-free.
Everyday tables are walk-in only. For groups of six or more, use the gathering enquiry and we will hold the long table if it is free.
Whole loaves and pastry trays can be set aside with a day's notice — mention it in the enquiry form and collect in the morning.
Bags of the house blend and the current single origin are on the shelf by the counter, and we are happy to grind for your brewer.
